About USF SASE
The University of South Florida (USF) chapter of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) was founded in 2015 and has since welcomed 1000+ members into its family. This chapter is highly dedicated to continuously achieving SASE’s mission each year by providing many professional development opportunities for its members, celebrating diversity on campus and in the workplace, and regularly giving back to the Tampa Bay community.
Our Missions
- Help scientists and engineers of Asian heritage with their professional development via:
- Mentoring programs with other undergraduates and industry professionals.
- Accessible networking and career opportunities.
- Provide an environment where students can:
- Share ideas and get feedback.
- Understand and celebrate diversity.
- Have opportunities to make contributions to the community.
History & Achievements
USF SASE Founded
A team of 5 Asian women in STEM came together to create a SASE chapter at USF.
Selected to Host SERC
For the first time, USF SASE hosted SASE’s Southeast Regional Conference.
Hosted SERC Again
USF SASE was chosen to host the Southeast Regional Conference for a second time.
SASE Network Conference Created
USF SASE pioneered a new conference at USF called SASE Network.
USF SASE Member wins National SASE Star
Vice-President External EJ Rojas was recognized for his incredible work and dedication.
Hosted SERC Once Again
USF SASE was chosen to host the Southeast Regional Conference for the third time in 5 years.
Another National SASE Star Win
President Isabelle Snowball was recognized for leading an incredibly successful chapter.
USF SASE Wins Strongest Chapter Overall
Awarded the SASE INSPIRE award at the National Convention for exceptional work.
